X-caliber carbon fiber barrel

Hey guys I am going to be doing a review on an x-caliber carbon fiber barrel. Wanted to post here in case anyone wanted to follow along for information. The specs on the barrel I ordered are as follows: straight contour (1.250) carbon barrel, 24" long with threaded muzzle (5/8x24) .264 5r groove 1-8 twist. This barrel is also cryo'd straight from xcal. This 24" straight contour weighs just 3lbs 14.5 ounces. I'm assuming after chambering it will be right at 3.5lbs and man does it look good! I will attach some pictures of the barrel straight out of the box, and update this post as I test the barrel.
This barrel will be going on my impact 737r and chambered in 6.5 creedmoor for the national rifle league hunter series. Hoping to make its first match in March in New Mexico.

I have had nothing but good luck with xcaliber. Won a few one day Prs competitions with a stainless barrel chambered in 6xc in 2020. I'm very excited to test and review this barrel. I will be completely transparent, if it's good or bad you will find out! But I sure have a feeling it will be good! I will also keep this posted filled with some information as I try my hand at the nrl hunter series and how we do at the Burris optics team challenge with this barrel

Absolutely, there isn't much info on these carbon barrels from xcal at the moment. My hopes are to change that, and provide info that everyone asks for.

$500 base for contoured blank, $600-705 for prefit (depending on action)

Hmm could have sworn they were a little cheaper when I was looking at them about a month ago.

I think they had a release price that was a little cheaper but not by much. When they do their 20% off sales the carbons are 10% off. I'm hoping to talk them into considering to do prefits for the bigger name actions. Impact, lone peak, defiance, we will see what comes of it. This barrel was a little over 800 but that is with expedited shipping a threaded muzzle and the cryogenics

You are exactly correct, they use a sleeve.
