WTS NEW UNFIRED GRE-'TAN RIFLE in .257 CALIBER
Greg Tannel built this rifle, to my specs, using these components:

Borden Rimrock LSR RH action

  • Repeater action
  • Standard port
  • standard mag well
  • pinned lug
  • picatinney rail

Jewell HVRST trigger set @ 1#, and timed by Jim Borden

Broughton 257 cal, 9 twist 5C groove barrel, w/ 5-26 contour, finished @ 26 " w/ .700 muzzle diameter Engraved on barrel: "by Gre-'tan Rifles .257 Wby Mag .285 Nk" This was chambered to use Nosler custom brass, using a long bullet w/ powder capacity, yet fit in the magazine. Also, benefit of a tighter chamber w/out neck turning.

McMillan Rem Hunter stock 90% black, 10% lt green rad camo swirl pattern
  • 13.5" lop
  • DEC 1" pad
  • 2 stainless steel studs

    HS Precision Gen II DBM

    Gre-'Tan graphite "break-in" kit

This is a new unfired rifle, built for me. Decided to sell it, before firing it. Greg has ~2 yr waiting list. This is ready to go.
$3695 + USPS insured Priority mail shipping to CONUS, in a new Plano plastic case.

Almost $4000 invested. Since components were purchased, stock, barrel etc. have had price increases. Only trade consideration would be a Sako TRG-22, possibly a TRG-42 in excellent condition + cash. More pics available per my email : [email protected]

What's the weight?

Question on how the chamber is cut — will it handle factory ammunition?

I built it to weigh about the same as a factory Sako or Remington magnum rifle, w/ a 26' barrel, ~8#. Yes, factory ammo can be used in this. Chamber was cut and throated to handle 100-120 gr bullets w/ proper 1x9 twist. I got advice for the specs from Jim Scott, a writer for Precision Shooter magazine, from Va. He has had experience w/ this caliber, using it extensively. I'm in Mt Pleasant, SC, now, for the weekend. My cell phone is 434-594-7101. You are welcome to call, for any questions or information.
Thanks,
Bob
