the encore is hard to beat in a hunting pistol. it is designed around max. hunting length for a handgun, including a muzzlebrake if equiped. at one time used only tc for all my hunting and shooting both biggame and small game. you cannot go wrong.

Ok so whats up with barrel swapping in the savage 516 pistol? Is it easy to do?

Barrel swapping on Savages is dirt simple.
All you need is: Action wrench and a barrel nut wrench, headspace gauge and barrels. Takes longer to type than do.
Get to barreled action. Loosen nut. Remove old barrel and nut. Put nut on new barrel. Insert go gage in action and run barrel with nut down onto gage to touch with bolt in battery. Tighten nut.
Done.

Well, something based of a 308 if I happen to get a striker, I found a video on youtube that helped me understand savage very well. Its just like an AR.

OK I got one thank you everybody for offering what you had to me. I ended up with a savage Striker in 243, with a Bushnell scope. It was the best fit for me.
