Like the title says. I am trying to help my hunting buddy find a somewhat high quality 5-6lb hunting rifle in Left Hand. We have looked at most of our factory options and none are really that appealing. That being said I would love suggestions just in case we missed any.
What we are looking for:
Stainless or Titanium Action
Composite Stock (lightweight?)
Maybe a break to make it louder/nicer to shoot at the range
gun)
We hunt in Southeast Alaska and it is VERY wet here so hoping to find something a bit rugged and not as prone to rusting. Mainly looking for a good goat gun.
As far as caliber goes...probably something short action 300WSM or something along those lines. Again, open to suggestions.
He is not opposed to a nice used rifle if someone has one.
As far as budget goes, well that depends on the gun but he is not opposed to spending the money it costs to get something nice that he can have for a very long time.
