I am new to this forum and have taken up an interest in some mid range shooting as well as learning how to range properly using mil-dots. As this is the case, I am looking at finding a Mil-dot Monarch, in either the 2.5-10 or 4-16, 42 flavor.
I would also consider a buckmaster, however the general consensus has been that the monarch is significantly better.
For starters I am looking to shoot either a .25-06, .243, or a .30-06.
FWIW, emotional/relational ties to the two 06 guns make a .308 a non-factor.
