would this be feasable?

back in the early 80's I had a rem 590 series 5mm rem mag, when ammo got scarce my budget wouldn't allow me to keep a rifle that couldn't earn its keep so to speak. I really liked that lil rifle and would like to have another in left hand. would it be possible to rebarrel a 22 wmr/17 HMR to 5mm and have a rifle that feeds well? or would it be better to convert a 590 to LH? any body know a smith that has done either?

If you can find a 590, Midway now has ammo. My grandad had one that he dearly loved. I found one at a local shop in great condition but didn't move quick enough to get it.........good luck, their great little rifles.
