Worth it? Savage Axis XPII

Hey Gang,
I have a savage Axis XP II (accutrigger) with a heavy barrel currently chambered in a .308.

Was wondering would it be worth a barrel swap for a 300WSM or should I just sell it and buy a new rifle?

What's the end goal? .308 works just fine unless your talking outside of North America.

Keep the Axis & buy the 300WSM, you cant have to many guns in the safe & imo although the 2 cartridges are the same calibre your talking about 2 different applications on live game at different distances.

Also to do a barrel swap in an Axis well your pretty much talking about spenind the same money as the axis cost in the 1st place.

So again, just buy a new rifle, 2 in the safe is better than one.

To add, the 300WSM in a magnum bolt face so now your talking about new barrel, new bolt as well.
