Will it get me to 1000?

I'm going to buy a Nightforce Benchrest 12-42 scope to go on my new Tubb 2000 in 260 rem. Will the 40 moa of the 12-42 reach out to 1000, or do I have to go with different bases? The rail that comes with the Tubb 2000 I am assuming is flat....no increase in MOA.

you will probably want a 15moa base, better yet there is a chance that a 20 moa base would work. Nightforce scopes usually have a few more usable moa than they advertise.

Which reticle do you plan to use?
I'm not sure where your rifle is zeroed to, but with my 50bmg, 100 yard zero, 2820fps mv, 750gr 1.05bc, it takes me 20moa at 1000yards. If you use a NP-R2 ret. you could have another 20moa of holdover markings.
