will a thumbhole stock help to control recoil

im getting 4 out of 5 shots in a .5 inch group.my shooting hand slips from the stock under recoil.maybe thats a problem and maybe not.it does it with the 50bmg and it does not cause a problem.there is one tight spot in the free floating of the barrel.a thin strip of paper will still hang up before it goes by that spot.ok so i need to fix that spot.will a thumbhole stock help control recoil,thanks,keith
 
Keith, a thumbhole stock will help with recoil. I really like them on my rigs and use them whenever I can. They are also very comfortable to hold during bench and prone shooting. At least for me.
