Wildcat Mod for a Stoney point

Has anyone Modified a case to use with the Stoney point overall length gauge. If you have what size tap did you use to cut the new threads.

Drew, I just started to do this the other night. Drilling the case was easy but then discovered it is not the standard fine 5/16 24 thread. So I need this answer too.

MT, I bought that tap a few months ago but haven't made any yet. What type of fixture are you using to keep everything straight?

Is the 5/16 36 a special order tap? Where can I find one?

I use the collet chuck on my lathe, but a drill press with carefull line up will work. any good tool co. should be able to get you the tap, I ordered mine from Travers tool co.
