My wife just got a 9mm carry gun. I showed her your post, then we discussed how to remedy the misfires and jams safely. Thanks for sharing.
That finger looks like it would throb with every heart beat. Ouch!!
 
Glad it wasn't a whole lot worse! A gunsmith I know, with many years experience,was working to clear a little piece of crap .25 auto a customer brought in...you can guess the rest. It goes off, thru his hand,into his thigh, because he was sitting at his bench it must have penetrated quite a ways. His shop looked like a slaughter house but at least he's ok now.
 
Was that Glock boom.

I can't remember which pistol specifically, it think it's the Glock but there is one out there that if:
you have a failure to feed or double feed...
you rack the slide just so...
a protrusion on the slide will impact the primer with the unchambered round in the ejection port.

We had it happen on our range to an RSO. It injury looked just like that.
