So my wife's nephew had a bad day. This young fella is so safety conscious it's nuts. So...I guess you never know what a moment of inattention can cause. His wife was shooting a pistol. She complained it wasn't firing. He walked to her side as she was pointing the pistol down range. With one hand he held her wrist and with the other worked the slide back. at least it's little more than a scratch... one guy I know messed up on a pistol clearing it and blew two fingers off...

Glad it wasn't a whole lot worse! A gunsmith I know, with many years experience,was working to clear a little piece of crap .25 auto a customer brought in...you can guess the rest. It goes off, thru his hand,into his thigh, because he was sitting at his bench it must have penetrated quite a ways. His shop looked like a slaughter house but at least he's ok now.

I can't remember which pistol specifically, it think it's the Glock but there is one out there that if:
you have a failure to feed or double feed...
you rack the slide just so...
a protrusion on the slide will impact the primer with the unchambered round in the ejection port.

We had it happen on our range to an RSO. It injury looked just like that.
