Honestly, there's so many, old and current, and most have something good to offer. Marketing products is a big part of it today. It is what it is.

Added note to my previous comments. I wouldn't say anyone influences me to hunt, nor have they ever. I've always been self motivated for the connection with nature and self preservation. However, I've been reading sporting magazines, books, watching television(and now internet) for decades. Politics and marketing hype aside, they are often interesting.

I have had many hunting trips where I felt like Elmer Fudd. You see them, but can't get one in the bag. He is persistent though!

Well, I guess that proves Elmer Fudd shot an A.H. Fox too, since it regularly seemed to blow up with just Bugs Bunny's finger in the end of it.
Sorry about your grandfather's gun. Hard to lose those type of mementos, regardless of the circumstances. Glad you came though it OK. At least I presume you did since you're still shooting.
