Which bullet?

you Hammer fans are definitely loyal customers. I'm sure they are great, but I can't get passed them being lighter than what i am wanting to shoot.
I had a tough time with that too, until I "bit the bullet" and tried them. The results make you wish everyone could have the chance at seeing them in action. ;) Think "lighter until impact". After impact, well the game changes and the script flips fast. Trust me, we wouldn't be fans if they didn't work or impress us.

Have similar custom made 7 mag, after trying various bullets, (Nosler, Barnes, Berger in grains from 160-190) the gun loves Berger 168 hunters, Nosler a close second. With suppressor there is not much difference. Gun sited in at 400 yards

One of the biggest impediments to bullet performance is bad shot placement. At distance, wind deflection is probably the number one cause of poor shot placement.

With the copper bullets, you just need to make sure you have the performance you need for the distance you are wanting to shoot.

Out west, we kinda think we need to be able to shoot 1000...

Sorry, was referring to my 28 from previous post. Regardless you should be able to push 7mm 195 Berger to 2900 FPS retaining 1970fps and 1680fpe @ 1000yds…my bad😂
Our ammo with 180s runs high 2800s, and 168s around 3000 with a 24 inch tube. We would be mid 2700s with the 195. We usually see around a 125 fps drop from 180 speeds. The numbers never worked out for us, even in the 28 nosler the 180 hyb wins at 1000.

If you are going with a really long freebore you may be able to make it work, but bearing surface is immutable.

I like how the Hammera don't require a ridiculous tight twist. Was looking at rhe CE Lasers and requires like a 1:7 for a .284 and 170 class bullet and like a 1:6:5 for the .130-140 class 264 projectiles

Interesting, run 3100 FPS all day long with 195/RL33 26" Brux barrel…I back it down to 3025ish…but may at 7000' MSL that the difference. Have tried it multiple times at FTW in Texas. I must be pulling trigger harder😂

We load our ammo so it is compatible with a saami chamber, just on case....

With a custom throat, and pushing to the max, that type of speed is achievable. I like a little safety factor...

full length resize…standard 28 Nosler…CBTO 2.955…Load 2.930. Can easily push beyond 3100 w/ RL33 but no need.

True for velocity at 1700yds + twice a year at FTW for the past several years. Just my 2¢.

OP is asking about loading 7mm to include 195 gr Berger…imagine he'll be adjust seating depth and powder charge/type to his rifle. Even if he only attains 2800fps that's still close to 1900fps/1600fpe @ 1000yds; pretty solid elk round at all ranges in between.
