I always wanted to have a run at the 6.5WSSM. Sure brass is a problem, but I love the 25 and think the 6.5 would be a gem with a 2.8 mag.
I have thought about that and looked into it a bit. COAL seemed to be the only advantage with other negatives- feeding, magazine, and poor brass options…

Boring ol' 260 Rem...kills everything on your list with no drama or issues (brass issues, clearance issues)
YUP and the 6.5 SLR is, even better with, it's 30* Shoulder and it's NICE, long,.. Neck !
That's WHAT,.. I'd build or,.. a 6.5 x55 GWI on, a Tikka, Action.
The 6.5 SAUM is nice, too, and my Vote of,.. YOUR, choices !
Then again, I would use, a 23-24 inch, Brux or Bartlien Barrel to, Squeeze the best Velocity / accuracy, outta whatever, Cart., you choose !
Sorry for Rambling !

In a 6.5 SAUM with a 23" barrel I was getting

2950 FPS with a 156 Berger
3248 with a 124 Hammer

Your 20" tube should be very capable. Without having to go with custom dies for the PRC, the SAUM would be the route again. Unless you want to be able to walk into Cabela's and buy ammo.

I reload, no need for factory ammo

Really not so boring, but surely was poorly named by the marketing duds at Remington. I have been hunting and shooting with mine for over 20 years in North America and Africa. Three loads cover everything from prairie dogs to moose. But lately, I have been thinking about a fourth loading mostly for pigs.

Mag bolt face guys...
That leaves 6.5CM, .260 Rem, 6.5SLR, .260AI out of the equation unless you get a new bolt.
If it was a standard bolt face the OP had, I would definitely get behind the 6.5SLR bandwagon. Love mine.

Out of the OP's selection, of course I have to say 6.5SS in a true short action. I just picked up my 4th last week.
My 20" 1:7.5" 6.5SS can push a 156 @ 3001fps, but I have since backed it down to 2920fps. Or a 140 @ nearly 3100. Or a 129 AH @ 3300+.

I have: 6.5X47 Lapua (shoots good with anything), 6.5-.308 (pre .260), 6.5X55 (odd ball), & 6.5-06.

In the present component emergency the 6.5-06 is easily supplied with brass. The extra 1/2 inch of action length, and brass having skinny body with slopey shoulders is of little concern. One of my 6.5-06 rifles was designed over 120 years ago, a FN Mauser. I usually find enough .270W & .30-06 range brass during & after each hunting season to keep me shooting the rest of the year & after sorting, inspection, and prep work including annealing I am set to go. A great variety of bullets & I like 120 ELDM's for rodents, 130 ELDM's & a variety of Berger VLD's for everything else. Right now I am into 8 lbs of VN165 powder and just acquired 1,000 CCI 200's. Barrel life not so good.
