Guilty as Charged!

Despite the "shortage", I also have more components on hand than I would normally have. Most were bought in larger quantities than I ever had before. Only in the last few years have I ever considered buying powder in 8lb jugs.

The good thing is that I'm really resistant to buying any more right now. 😁

I just canx a backorder from Eurooptic that charges when you order. Had them send me a refund.

DUN with Berger's inability to maintain the most demanded projectiles.

Get on product notification lists. I’ve been getting notifications of, specifically 7mm, bullets showing up a bunch this last year. I bought like 300 195s earlier last year. Have seems 162s and others come in stock too.

The handloaders' (loaded ammunitions are on the shelves) piece of the pie is tiny. I am no business SME, but business strategy tells me to fulfill the bread-and-butter orders. Luckily, I have an ample supply of Bergers for my intended purpose and have found substitute bullets similar to or better than Berger, i.e., https://blackholebullets.com/see-products. Blaine has limited offerings at this tie but is an option to Berger nonetheless. Cheers!

Contacted them through email. Looking for .277 170 EOL. They replied the same day. That particular bullet is not on their schedule at all. Maybe next fall 2023 since it’s considered a hunting bullet. Local gun store has had a $100,000 order for various Berger bullets for over 1 year.

Yup. People seem to forget about the SOCOM 300 Norma ammo contract. I believe there were two runs in excess of 1.5 Million 215s and 230s. Us peasants were hung out to dry.
What, you don’t want your military Snipers having ammunition that extends their range to at least match that of the rest of the modern word?
If you think it’s bad now, wait till the rest of the force gets this ammo. I can tell you how much we (and the SF Sniper Course) will get per class per year, and it is a large chunk of ammunition. Then there will be the operational units.

You should have kept the order. If you prepay Europtics it may take a while but when them get them in it is sent to you first. We did prepay orders several times for Berger Unicorns 105 Hybrids 6mm. One order took about 8 months and the other about 10 months, but we ended up several K of those Unicorns and will last us a few years.

Today, even casual shooters are buying up everything in sight. There are more components on shooters shelves waiting to get reloaded than will ever be utilized.

Just my 2 cents.
I believe people do get caught up in the component shortage buying 100’s or 1000’s when they load 100 per year…..thinking it is their god given right! See it with loaded ammo too.

This is key, but then what is Nosler‘s excuse for zero bullets shipped for 6 months.

I started reloading in 1999. I don't recall Bergers EVER being abundant.
I do. They have generally been available even by the 1000’s, when others were somewhat limited. That said, many stores seem to consider Bergers not worthy to stock because they are a precision bullet company. Huh? 🤦‍♂️

Guilty! I have never bought so many 8lb containers. I just bout 2000 CCI LR primers! Who needs 2000 right now? Consider I bought those for single shot pistol loads!
