Ol Red we have a few that will go 9’ in Mondamtana…a few years back fwp, foot snared the grandpa and 10 years later the grandson (dna) grandpa weighed 980# and grandson weighed over a 1000# in the spring, regular giants for the lower 48. A bear the fwp shot last fall that weighed 790# squared 8’6” so those two related bears could have easily squared 9’….the gestapo tells us the bears on the east side of the Rocky’s get larger than the bears on the west side. Not sure they have weighed one over 800# in the fall on the west side. And we know the fall weight is heavier than the spring weight. The food/ genetics at times produce a giant on the east slope. Most boars are 550-800 max here.
