What'll you be carrying for spring bear?

I should have clarified that hunting black bear with 250 and if it were brown then FN Mauser 338/06 with 210 TTSX with 1-8 Vortex strike Eagle

Dead is Dead, right????? 😁😁😁
My last bear, 45-70 exit! Broad side, Barnes 300gr FBHP TSX. That bear walked, ever so "slowly" for about 10 feet and.....that's all he wrote. The Whelen did an even more devastating on the last bear that I shot it with. I would not hesitate using either cartridge that walks in this country.

What will you be toting for optics, rifle, bullet etc...

Go Zags!
411-284 WIN. 350 gr Hawk bullet at 2235 fps on a 1910 MEX mauser with a 22" bbl and a B&C stock (modified small ring). 4x weaver el paso post & crosshair

First time bear hunting and will be in Idaho. Over bait. Was going bring 30/06 with Superformance GMX. Guide asked if I had anything bigger. I said I have 45/70 or 375hh. He told me to bring the 375. So 375hh on a vx6 2-12 with either 260 accubonds or 250ttsx. Probably 260 accubonds because it is a dead accurate load for me. Still developing the 250ttsx.

The 375 H&H topped off with the 2-12 scope is an ideal combo over bait, I like powers under 3 when hunting bears over bait as it is usually close work. Illuminated reticles are nice as the bears may come to the bait in the last 15 minutes of legal shooting time and finding a black reticle against a black bear in low light can be challenging.

Yep. Forgot to mention vx6 2-12 firedot.

Coming from a country that had Trump in charge? Pot calling kettle black I'd say. 😂😂😂
Trump did not want my guns, lowered my taxes, kept my fuel costs down, and kept my southern border secure. True-doe gonna do all that for you? I love most things about Canada, but I don't like anything about that costume-wearing, gun-hating miscreant prime minister of yours. If you did not like Trump, we will have to disagree on those two differences in our countries. And I throw in Joe Biden for free. But that wouldn't be fair of me, would it?

An awesome report on the venerable 45-70, AND my personal favorite carry rifle, my VZ-24 35 Whelen.

Exit hole 35 Whelen, 225gr Barnes TSX 235lb bear. This is an older photo, looking for a more current one this year.
