What unit in Wyoming??

We are mainly going for the experience. If we shoot a trophy, that's a plus, but we do want a good representation of the species.

So my dad and I have 9 pts each and don't mind spending for the special draw, since this will probably be our only time hunting for antelope. What units would be best for a DIY with the points we have? Any help is appreciated.

I hunted 67 twice. Took a 16" 82 inch buck. Lot's of bucks. See if that is drawable

Look at the odds; you aren't drawing most of last years 9 point units or above, and you aren't leaving points on the table by applying for a 6 point area. You'll have only a few units to choose from and I'd research those. You have 2 months before the proposed quotas come out, don't even think of applying before then.

Special license price increase is working thru the process, HB200.

The special license increase was killed about 2 weeks ago. Its not even on the table anymore.

The Senate bill was voted down because it's a finance bill and has to be introduced in the House.

Thats for regular licenses not just the special... its not going to pass they try it every year. They will get a 2% increase like usual

Read the Bill, it has nothing to do with regular price licenses.

"The following fees shall be collected by the department and are in addition to the nonresident license fee for the appropriate big game species imposed under subsection (j) of this section and the application fee imposed under subsection (e) of this section:"

I literally just read it. If it had nothing to do with regular pricing then why does it show them changing the regular price and not the special price🤔🤔

They aren't changing the regular price; nr Elk isn't $576.
Regular license prices are spelled out in a different paragraph. Special licenses are spelled out in section J and are in addition to the regular price. They strike out the current addl price and added in the new addn. Common mistake when people look at the special pricing legislation.

we hunted unit 26, saw a lot of goats, I was lucky enough to take an 80 incher.......

To clarify my earlier post, it’s true that goat meat is pretty decent eating even from the high sage desert. BUT, you will see / taste a difference in one that has fed primarily on alfalfa.

Same with muleys!
