What of calibers to add to the line up

Hey guys,

little strange but since I got into precision I've read and asked the age old question "which action". Well 2-3 years ago I decided I'm going to build on as many of the top action manufacturers as I can to gather an opinion of my own. Well my latest build should be wrapping up in the next two weeks, and my next one is 90% planned out but still need 3-5 more builds to complete my quest I guess you could say. The actions I know, but the calibers I don't. Currently have defiance, terminus, stiller, zermatt, KS (the one returing in a few weeks) kelbly. Next will be lone peak. I'd like to add, impact for sure, surgeon, maybe an arc and a bat. If there is something else I'm forgetting it will join the list.

here's the line up so far;

20 tactical (the one being finished now)- main coyote set up
223 rem- trainer/back up coyote rifle
6mm creed- back up prs
25 creed- main purpose prs
260 rem- middle of the road hunting/target rifle
270 wsm (the one being started after the 20 tac returns) will be a lighter weight hunting rifle
300 Norma big game rifle

I'm not sure what else to add to the list. I'd like to get an idea together so if I stumble across good deals on parts (actions or barrels) I will pick up for future builds.

my thoughts are another varmint build. Something maybe to sling the heavies in a 22 cal. Then I've been really eyeing the 6bra so believe that will be one. But other then that I'm kind of hung up. I've been enjoying the 25 creed so much I'd like to add maybe a hunter weight 25 saum or 25 blackjack. Any suggestions for 3-5 more builds. Will be probably another 2-4 years to complete the list but incase I stumble across what I need id like to put things aside. Im hoping to have the 270'wsm wrapped up by fall and then parts being collected for the next caliber.

You are forgetting pierce engineering for an action. I've had some top ones and I think they are top notch definitely no one matches them for titanium

I vote 6 dasher or BRA. Or maybe do one of these in say a 22 Dasher or BRA. Maybe a larger 7 mm and 25 cal. Other than that you got a really nice lineup.

Do a Pierce Titanium and chamber it in 7 Sherman Short- easily fits in a short action with 195's or chamber the 7 Sherman Max and go Long Action with a 20" or 22" barrel.
Looks like you're hand loading anyway. Brass is definitely available from Sherman Wildcats.

If you have any desire to see how small of a hole you can make you might consider a 6 Dasher. Since you are going to have a premium action you may as well get a premium barrel and a premium proven cartridge.

I'd throw in a 338 or 338/378....just me

338 Lapua
I've always wanted a 338 Lapua improved but don't know if I want to dedicate another action to the Lapua bolt face. Maybe try it after my norma's burnt out but seriously loving the Norma.

for some reason the bra peaks my interest more then the dasher but will definitely consider it

the 6bra is definitely keeping my eye. Was thinking about it for a while and can't seem to stop, so I'm sure I'll have to throw one together. Maybe that will take the impact.
The 25 blackjack or saum should be another

a 7 is what I'm missing. Not sure if I would be more keen on the magnum or maybe like a saw
Have tried Barnard? I've heard really good things about them but have no hands on experience with them.

No sir but I believe they are more of a bench or fclass action from my understanding. I hear great things but I'm looking for more tactical/prs/hunting actions.

Well Matt , I think you deserve a really classic rifle in a classic chambering. You need a custom .375 H and H built on a Win Model 70 action, a Barrel Band and Express Sights ,and a really nice piece of English walnut. Not a bad choice for brown bear and a pretty good choice for the herds of Cape Buffalo and the occasional Lion found in Ontario. You would love it. C'mon buddy Build one of those .

hahaha my best friend works for browning/Winchester and I asked him to grab me a model 70 safari 375h&h already. Not something I need but something I've wanted for some time lol.

One that you really need to fill the 7mm gap is a 7mm Mashburn Super, different to most, hard hitting, fast, was created well before it should have been, because now with tight twist barrels & heavy projectiles to utilise the design, a great caliber, just my thinking, as l starting building a custom 7 mm Rm, l am changing to the Mashburn Super, best of luck with your builds, l am looking forward to your updates on a large undertaking,
Graham.🐢
