what is the actual velocity?

i read in lyman 47th reloading handbook about factory cartridges velocity and actual velocity.cal 270win 130g bullet has 3060 muzzel velocity same cartridge has 2883 velocity at 3 yards from 22" bbl length.in my loads i have 3166 velocity in 3 yards with same bullet (chronographs always in 3 yards)ma i have a 3343 muzzel velocity?can anyone help me thancks.

Your velocity numbers don't make sense to me.

Could you check your data and verify it's correct, then let us know?

If you chronograph numbers are what you say, I suspect your loads are way too hot and pressure's too high for safety.

If I am reading correctly, you are measuring with a chrono from 3 yards?

If you are, you are way too close and getting muzzle blast also. Try moving the chrono to 15-20 ft away from the muzzle.
