what is a accuriser block

i have just bought a 220 swift varmint in a ruger no 1,it has a custom trigger which is great but it also got a accuriser block fitted, what is it and how does it work ,atb steve
 
I think you have the Hick's Accurizer. It is a device that allows you to apply a controlled amount of pressure to the barrel via the forestock mount. The thinking is that by controlling the pressure at a specific point you control the barrel harmonics and can dial in a node that is condusive to higher accuracy.

I don't have the accurizer but his is what I did to my #1.

flashhole justed looked at your ruger no 1. what a nice bit of work ,the work is very neat and simple and the 200 yards groups you have shows it works. nice job bud and thanks for information .atvb steve
