Here are a few quotes that my friend sent me. This is the type of propaganda with some facts thrown in.
This I know to be true:
"29 deaths of AZ/Utah Condors due to lead since 2000. If there were ever a reason to ban lead bullets in AZ, this would give them the reason.

The next three quotes came from my friend. I cannot say how much is true and how much is propaganda. They are so worried about lead affecting the cognitive abilities of young people yet we have legalization of marijuana.
=================
"Given the extensive evidence that lead exposure from spent ammunition is harmful to
wildlife it now appears obvious that responsible society will end the use of lead for hunting
throughout much of the world. Accumulating scientific evidence indicates that lead has even
more serious consequences than formerly believed. The majority of rifle-killed animal remains
left in the field and consumed by scavengers are now known to contain considerable quantities of
lead. In addition to condors, the affected species for which data exist include bald eagles, golden
eagles, ravens, mourning doves, upland game birds, and more than 50 other species of birds
known to be poisoned by ingesting spent bullet fragments and shotgun pellets found in the
environment. Indeed, carcasses contain so much lead that hunters must seriously consider
whether human consumers of deer meat are not also at risk. Several investigations have found
elevated lead levels in subsistence hunter families, a serious issue considering that even small
amounts of lead exposure in developing children may substantially and permanently reduce
cognitive ability. No one would knowingly want to so expose their families, but right now
investigations into rates and consequences of human ingestion of spent ammunition are still in
progress."

"Given that the American public has been in transition from the use of traditional
lead ammunition projectiles to lead-free substitutes for more than 25 years, the
current efforts to promote lead-free bullets and shot are a logical and appropriate
extension of our modern understanding that this source of lead exposure can
now be eliminated without seriously infringing the right of firearms users to shoot
effective ammunition.

With such polarization, the government may indeed intervene with further
regulations on the use of lead-based ammunition projectiles on behalf of human health
and wildlife survival (e.g., populations of California condor).
The dogmatic, non-negotiable, and fear-based misinformation campaign of industry and
user advocates creates a political atmosphere that compromises the interests of their own
constituents by forcing government to consider actions necessary to protect the general
public's welfare and wildlife heritage. Their tactics are, therefore, more likely to result in
a ban of lead-based ammunition than the science-based information campaign provided
by private, state, and federal researchers.
==================================================
If there is an executive order I doubt we can use up all our lead first. I believe there would be a very short time where we could use lead. IIRC the banning of lead for waterfowl shooting took place so the next season we all had to comply.

Not sure how many know that lead wheel weights are banned in California, Washington, New York, Vermont, and Maine?

As for lead sinkers; WHERE HAVE LEAD SINKERS BEEN BANNED?
• Great Britain banned the use of lead sinkers in 1987.
• In Canada, it is illegal to use lead sinkers and jigs in national parks.
• The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is currently considering banning the use of lead sinkers and jigs on national wildlife refuges where loons and Trumpeter swans breed.
• Lead sinker use is banned in three national refuges and Yellowstone National Park in the United States.
• Maine banned the sale of lead sinkers and jigs less than one oz.
• New York banned the sale of lead sinkers less than one oz.
• New Hampshire passed a ban on the use of lead sinkers and jigs less than one oz. and less than one inch.
• As of 2006, a ban on the sale of lead sinkers and jigs will also be put into effect in New Hampshire.
