What .284 rifle to build

I have a Barlien barrel in a .284, I would like a long range rifle out to 1000 yds, any one have any thoughts?

I have looked at the 28 Sherman and the Mashburn, would like a caliber that the brass is not hard to come buy or form

I love my 7LRM, and the new ADG brass from Gunwerks has fixed a lot of the original issues of the cartridge. But it is a dying round. My vote for a new build would be the 7mm Sherman Max. But it you want truly easy to find brass you are back to 7 mag & 28 Nosler

We were going to build a "F" class in straight 284.-GREAT!!!
But we have a lot of 6.5 so we are making a 6.5X284.
Since you already have the barrel in 284- go with it!!

Well the 284 has come full circle. Guys started necking down 284 to 6.5 284 because of the high bc of the 6.5's. Now with the newer high bc 7mm bullets the 284 has come back in vogue and guys are necking up 6.5 284 brass lol.

.280AI and 28 Nosler would be top choices, but brass is super hard to find right now.

7RM is easy.

7SS, 7SAUM, 7Max if you want a short or medium action. Maybe even 7WSM.

7-.300WM or 7STW would get you a bit more than the 7RM.

7RUM if you want an absolute missile launcher.

What twist do you have?
I have a Bartlein 2B 8 twist ordered for a build and I think I'll go 7 saum as ballistically it fits right between my two other rifles and I've been interested in a saum for quite a while.

I guess I am weird, 280AI, would be my starting point, but the Sherman or Nosler would be in the top 5. I will have to ponder the other two.

It will really narrow your options if your barrel has a slower than optimum twist for these newer longer high BC bullets.

Target shooting or hunting? Is your action LA or SA? Barrel twist rate?

Off the shelf and online brass availability (scarce) is a challenge at the moment

The Mashburn is pretty easy, if you have 300 Win brass then you have all you need.
