What 22cal would you build?

I have a 7 twist 22-250AI and it shoots 90 grain Gold Dot/Fusion bullets at 3400+ fps.

Die hard .224 cal shooter for many years. Only rifle I owned for almost 20 yrs was a 788 in 22-250. Killed everything with that and 55 grain Remington ammo. Adopted the 224TTH (22/6mm) with 75 GR Swift siroccos later in life. Many 223 Rem rifles in the mix and still used daily. Most recently I've built three 22 Creedmoor's. 16" truck version, 22" hunting, and 24" long range rifle in a chassis. Just so rewarding to shoot.

I was thinking 22 Grendel or 22 dasher.

The 22 dasher is excellent. I have been shooting this cartridge for years for hunting and PRS. 80-90 gr works well and great accuracy

I would do a 22 Creedmoor with a 8 or possible 7.5 twist barrel. I would run 75 to 90 grain bullets and kill all sorts of coyote and deer with it. I wold want the 75 gr Swift scirocco for deer and probably something softer for the yotes. Swift might come out with an 81 grain scirocco, which I would switch to if it becomes available

What 224 caliber would yall put together and why? What would the "build sheet" look like?

This rifle will be used to fling +70gr bullets into hogs and coyotes out to about 800yds. Coyotes will not be used for fur.

I have 1 223rem tikka and I really like it but it's pretty bland. Im thinking about building/putting together something a little faster in velocity and with a faster twist barrel for the higher BC bullets. I'm also tired of feeding retumbo and RL26 and magnum primers into my magnums just to kill hogs.

My father has a 220 swift.

I had a 223ai but sold everything for it. I'm just looking for something more than a 223 and that doesn't need 70gr of powder.

I'm basically starting from scratch and looking for ideas.

Been there, done that with .22 Creedmoor. It was decent, but I'd do a .22 GT if I had to do it again. More efficient - you get nearly as much bang for a bit less powder.

22-250 or 22-250 Ackley Improved with a fast twist barrel and throated for heavy bullets seated out as far as possible and I'd never look back. 6.5 CM and 22-250 cases are almost identical. I never understood why we keep reinventing the wheel.

I'd vote for a 22-250 as well. Great gun, been around for a long time so not likely to come and go. If you want to go long range, would step up to a 6 Creedmoor.

I just built a 22 creedmoor. Very satisfied with it carbon six barrel 7.7 twist. 75 gr eld-m 3250fps 20" barrel.

22cm would be pretty easy. I was also thinking about 22x47lap. I'd really like to stay away from fire forming but I'm not afraid of it either.

What speeds and seeds are you running in the 22-250ai?

I would build a 22x47 Lapua over a 22-250 AI .
The 47 will do everything the 22-250 AI does with 2 grains less powder . I run a 22x47 in a 1-8 twist with 75 grains AMax at 3610 fps . Absolutely kills any Varmint in its path .

I'd do a 22 BR, or maybe a 22 Grendel.

22 Grendel is a sweet little round. Mine is in an AR, but may get a barrel spun up for my bolt gun one day.
