Weird leg band

Got these off a huge hen Canvasnack today. Anyone ever seen them or know what they are?

Are they made of plastic?

Nope. Metal, almost like a split ring.

Did they not have I'd numbers. It usually gives information when called in right?

Pretty sure they are NOT FWS bands at all. Most likely they are from a private breeder and are escaped or released birds.

No numbers. We're pretty convinced it was a private band due to how large the bird was.

Just noticed the link. I think these are them. I initially thought they were metal but maybe not.

I am assuming these are privately tagged and not part of the USFWS banding program? I have lots of
Federal Bands and have literally taken thousands of migrating ducks but I have never seen anything
like Keith's bands.

Them bands are new to me I have not been hunting probably as long as most but in my 18yr I have never seen them
