Weig-a-tinny

Just got a Ruger M77 Varmint/Target and need to mount a scope rail. Has anyone used a Weig-a-Tinny? Just wondering if these are difficult to align to the bore, and if they stay secure? I don't have a decent gunsmith in my area and don't want pay $200.00 to drill & tap 4 holes.
