Weatherby Picatinny Base

I'm looking for a good 20 MOA picatinny base for a Weatherby Mark V Accumark. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

I believe NightForce makes them too. Any of these menioned so far are nice bases. But I will add, if you ever held or installed a Near you will see the quality in it. It has a recoil lug too which is great for the Weatherby big boomers. Especially if you are mounting a heavy tactical scope.

Thanks for the info. It is a 30-378. Is the near base going to be that much better than the others, it is almost double the price?

What about rings? I'm thinking about possibly trying out the huskemaw scope.

I just installed an EGW 20moa base on my weatherby 30378 last nigh along with a schmidt and bender 5-25 Police marksman II. Have not shot it yet but quality looked real good. Will let you know as soon as I shoot it.

In my opinion from two I have used.

Very flimsey and you can bend them with ease.

Non conforming to the action. I bed every base I install but it will be stronger if they are at least close to the same tapers.

Canted moa way off. One on a 22-250 wby SVM was suppose to be a 20 moa base. I could barely get zero at 100 with a Nightforce 5.5x22 NXS that has 100 moa of adjustment. That means my 20 moa base had about 50 moa. Probably due to the fact that it was not a good fit and you could actually see it bending as you tightened the screws.

I am done with them. See my other posts with interesting pics of cheap crappy bases. I have been involved with two other threads lately pertaining to this.

Disclaimer: Not looking for an argument, just stating facts of what I have had in person. I hope it saves some others some grief and money.

I have never used a US optics base. But the other prodcts from them I have used are great.

There can be some issues with ring and base compatability. I really like Nightforce rings. And I have had good luck with IOR too.

I bought one from NF 3 years ago, and they mistakenly thought the Remington 700 and Weatherby MK V action took the same rail; they don't.

I called Richard Near next and he got me lined out.

I was looking at the Near pieces and it looks like they only have 10 MOA and 40 MOA for the Mark V magnum. Is there anything to installing these? Or just a simple bolt on?
