Utah youth any zone elk hunt

His 13 year old son drew a youth elk tag in Utah for 2020. Basically looking for any pointers for areas to start scouting before the season. They don't live in the state and have never hunted in Utah so any info would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends upon where you go in Utah. The popular places are over-run with hunters, especially near roads and trail heads. I am a resident of Utah (northern).

What units are available for the tag? Is it any unit? If so, I'd say central manti

The youth hunt tag allows the hunter to hunt earlier dates in the rut in general season areas. The limited entry any bull areas are not open to the youth tag holders.
