Use OnX on an iPhone or use a Garmin GPS? Here is my experience, I hope it is helpful.

I only use Onx on my phone now, GPS never seems to get used. The larger screen is the biggest plus and you don't have to carry 2 items since we all take our phones everywhere now-a-days. Both have a plus and minus as you stated.

I just got OnX for my PA lands and I love it. Twice in the last two weeks the hybrid layer it's helped me identify areas that wound up holding deer. If you download the maps and use airplane mode in the woods, you're battery will last. If you want to keep your signal, invest in a USB remote battery charger.

Good info here, I am thinking I need an upgrade from my old gps.
