it depends on the rifle. A heavy bbl 308 vs a ultralight will have vastly different results. everybody knows that the cartridge can perform. the rifle and the shooter are the variables.
Did it with an 8.5 lb 20" .308 shooting the same load at 2475, a little less ballistics, and took a little more concentration to shoot well, but still very doable. I do understand your point though, heavy guns are easier to shoot, no denying that, but that certainly doesn't mean it's impossible.

It might be difficult to hit a 10” plate at 1000 yds with light 308, but I would slap Vx5Hd 3-15x44 on it and have great time trying. It would be a pleasure to carry both in field and to the range.

So far I looked at three Kimber 84M 308 Win and they all has "sub moa" guarantees from Kimber. I'd say that's good enough to plink out to 1k.
go read the fine print...3 shot group, 100 yard accuracy does not garuantee 1000 yard results

I DID NOT SAY THEY DO NOT CARRY SIGHTRON, NOR THAT IT COULD BE FOUND ANOTHER WAY.
