well guy's I have been hunting once or twice a week since Dec. 1st, killing 1 or 2 a week ever since, but I have met an old male that I got a shot at once at 280 to 300 yds on his typical yote trot away from me, The place I hunt is full of chest high brush and weeds, and long story short, If I believed in trespassing I would have killed him weeks ago, but the fence around my farm is very, very, grown up in cedar and I see him every other trip I go, I killed his mate at around 400 yds and now he wont cross the fence, at least during shooting hours, I have tried various yote call's , challenge and female invite, even wounded deer! any ideas on making him the trespasser and not me?

I asked last year and He told me I could shoot one on Him but was'nt allowed to hunt on foot cause of spooking cattle. I thought that was lame, I am allowed to shoot from a truck, but not on foot? And where I have seen this yote 4 times I would need a 50bmg, at least 600yds is as close as I can get by truck, and His other neighbors are stupid and sling bullets that far and have attempted to yote hunt and had them call shy and this one is just educated, The yote travels about 50 yds beyond the heavy covered fence row, I watch deer and how the react to see this dog sometimes

Should I just climb a tree and leave the call at home and hunt him that way? That is what I have been thinking about doing

morning, wait until the breeding season. use a decoy, get some female in

heat coyote scent this is cheating. think thru ur approach, cover scent, camo, and calls

used. the tree trick favorable. quit calling just observe his movetments. sounds

like he is trackable thru is far movements. after females pup. use a pup

in distress. weeks into the pupping. patience, u will win, but u will miss the

challenge when he is dead.lightbulbgun)

Decoy will do the trick. Set him up. Something like above. Set up call and decoy night before. Try a different call Grey Squirrel for example. You can use road kill for decoy. put one on a stick. Tie the tail of another to a string to a stick. Get them high enough he can see them. Put them in the freezer so they do not go bad till you get ready. just country nailed it "u will miss the challenge." Maybe this one is meant to be free?

The main food source is dead cow or calf or deer, in years past on my spot we had a dead cow from trying to calf, we killed a dozen of it and that was just the time we had to hunt which was not every day but mostly weekends. In deer season I have seen yotes chasing deer several times, and during fawn season u can use a fawn distress call and heat up the barrel on females and young ones, our yote season is closed only for 6 weeks a year, during turkey season, and then u can use a turkey tag and hunt yotes shot gun only

Get some snares & have someone show you how to set them up. It sounds like this coyote has been called to boredom. Traps & snares work 24/7.
PM me if you want a little advice on this,
Thanks, Kirk

Same old sob story. We are over run with coyotes, hogs, or even elk, but, we are sure not open to let people hunt. He is on your neighbors that won't even let you hunt. He'
,your neighbor, deserves whatever he gets. Absolutely no sympathy here !!!!
