U.S.869 powder

Has anyone used U.S. 869 powder to push 300 grainers in a .338 EDGE. What were the velocities and the temperature sensitivity? Thanks, Gary

Not in an Edge but in a RUM. Didn't pan out. 869 is not the friendliest of powders. I've gone through 16 pounds of in an extreme magnum. Besides being quite temp. sensitive, ES were never any good.

50 BMG turned out to be "the" powder in my 338 RUM. Though it may not be the best for the Edge.

I'm having no luck with it at all in 50 BMG rounds. Dunno if that translates. I've done fairly well with H50BMG for whatever that's worth.

I tried it in a 338-378 because it was easy to find. Well there is a reason it's easy to find. I was not able to get accuracy or velocities that Retunbo or H-1000 provide. Still have 6+ pounds.
