Twist rates for 338/416, 338/378

What would you recomend for a 30-40" berrel for the 300gn Sierra MK at 3000-3200fps.

A program I ran on my 416wby with a 400gn X bullet was in the 1 in 18 to 19 range and my rifle has a 14 twist and works very well.

Nearly all 338 barrels I've checked into are 1 x 10. That being said, I have a PacNor that is 1 x 8 polygonal, there have been 3 of these made that I'm aware of. I guess if you find a company willing to make a custom you can have anything you want.

Darryl no doubt knows more about the twists for the 338 barrels but my guess is that he'll say 1 x 10.

Your so right Dave.

1 in 10 twist for the 338 and the 250 gr or the 300 gr bullet.
