Triumph/Omega/Optima question??

Brand new to ML hunting and looking at grabbing my first online this month. Watching all the hype about the new cva long range muzzleloader I'm wondering how far you guys are shooting with your encore, triumph, omega, optima? I played with these and really liked the feel of the triumph but overall the CVA thumbhole stock on the Optima felt the best. Curious if it's worth the extra to buy the latest model with 30 inch barrel and the bells and whistles.

Range info would be great. I have 8 points in CO and 6 in UT and I'd like to cash in on a ML hunt next year so I'd be running a scope in UT and WY and irons in CO.

I drew 2 ML tags this year....Deer in Utah and Elk in New Mexico. Using my CVA Accura V2 Nitride exclusively so I'll let you know in mid October. Mine is 2016 model, which I believe is a 26" barrel, but has the thumbhole stock. Only thing I hate about the stock are the proprietary sling nobs......not compatible with normal components like a bipod.

I am shooting the 305gr Berry Ballistic Tip bullets out to 300 yrds w/ good accuracy. These bullets will carry the >1200 ft-lbs of energy needed to kill an elk at that distance and they shoot very well. Only 12 MOA adjustment at 300 yrds at 1850 ft/sec velocity (which I can speed up if needed). I shoot the 275 gr at 2050 ft/sec.

Was reading articles on the new 30" barrel yesterday.......a magazine publisher shot a 50 round group with 110 gr Blackhorn and 300 gr Scorpion PT Gold projectile at only .649", assuming you drop 1 shot that he knew he missed. Overall group with the outlier was still at 1.047" at 100 yrds.

There's really not to many modern inline rifles made today that are not capable of "extended range" shooting. That is, given the time put in to develop the right combination. Depending on the shooter, they're all capable of less than moa at 100yds.
I'm not a CVA fan for many reasons, which doesn't need discussion. My first choice and without question would be a Knight. After Knight it would be the T/C platform.
If you want to extend your range further, then there's the Remington Ultimate. If you want to go all out for range, accuracy and bullet energy, then the much more expensive Ultimate Firearms Inc., BP Xpress.

I have had an omega since they first came out and with triple 7 magnum pellets and a 44 cal 300gr dead center I get 1/2" to 3/4" groups at 100 yards .i have killed a lot of deer with this combo and all have been pass through switch either DRT or very short but massive blood trails .love hunting with the omega
