TriNyte Finish

I might pick up a SS 700 that has the TriNyte finish.

If I add a brake to it, can it be matched up by a competant smith to look the same?

Or will it stick out like a sore thumb?

Also, a different question, it seems as if it would be fairly easy to make a 338 RUM into a 338 edge with a reamer and just a little off the top so to speak

Is this accurate?
