Tips for effective long term feeder hunting

On every property I've hunted it doesn't matter what you do or how you do it, once you start whacking pigs at a feeder they will disappear for a while. But they always come back eventually. Running cams help tremendously in locating them.

Thanks JC300 for these tips. After being around a couple years the pigs just left our area at least for now. I have not gotten any camera pics of them in over 3 months. Maybe myself and others just too rough on them :) .

I have learned over the years to not shoot into a sounder unless you want them to disappear. Because they will leave for a while. I feed year round and see them almost daily especially at night. The sweeter the feed the faster and heavier they come in. Straight corn and the get more sensitive to pressure here. Wetter times they disappear also.
