Hello All,
I have purchased a 243 T3 light looks like a 21 or 20 inch barrel 1:10 twist. I was hopeing someone might have a good load that will fit in the mag. Will be my wifes first rifle. She been out shooting it a little but I am looking now at getting a good round built up for this gun. I have a couple of different bullets like 95 bergers, 95 SST, 105 Amax's, and 90 grain accubonds. I have several powders as well, retumbo, 7828, H4350, hybrid 100V, reloaders 15 and 25, H1000, IMR7797 and 4166 to list a few. So if anyone has any good loads that fit in the mag and want to share some info please post. I was trying the 105's yesterday and did not get to good of results. about 2.5 to 3 inches at 200. Now that said the trigger in this gun is very hard. Tight trigger no creep but the pull weight leaves a lot to be desired. everything about the gun is still factory as well. thanks for any replys.

The 10 twist doesn't stabilize the 95 Bergers. I went to an 87 Gr Hornady Vmax and it shoots it very well with VV N 560. With the bullet jammed into the rifling I was shooting 1/2-3/4 moa but I backed off of them slightly so I don't leave a bullet stuck in the bore and I still hold under 1" at 100 yards.

I'm getting ready to try out 85 gr Barnes TSX's just so I can rack my brain on something else.

Please get that trigger tuned ,great gift for your Wife, love the 243 in your Tikka twice the fun! What brass you running, primer? Thks jjmp

jjmp....
Brass is Winchester....primers are BR2. or I can used federal 210 match.
I shot the HSM loaded berger 95 grains and they shot ok. But I think the gun could be more accurate. I'm just really hoping to find something that will fit in the mag and shoot 1/2 moa. Also the barrel is 22 inches. I thought it was shorter but it's 22 inches.

components all great ,22inch bbl great ,H1000&hybrid100V good with heavy bullets 100&105 grains H4350 also great powder for 95 &90 grain bullets for lighter bullets 55 grain to 70 grainers reloader/15& Varget work great ,haven't tried the newest powders to pricy for my liking, which brings use back to your trigger, heavy triggers pull you off target before they break, best loads mean nothing with a heavy trigger. Cross reference multiple reloading manuals and you'll fine very good loads ,good luck enjoy that Tikka, regards jjmp

It is easy to tune the trigger. You just need a 2.5 mm Allen wrench, you don't even have to take the receiver out of the stock. There is an access hole just above the trigger, turn the screw CCW and you can get down to 2.2 lb.
I found that the Tikka 10" twist didn't shoot heavier bullets as well as <100 gr bullets. 80 gr TTSX shot very well with 43.5 gr H4350. It is a very good hunting cartridge.

Your Tikki is a well made rifle. However 10" twist barrel limits you to 87 grain and lighter VLD style bullets. 95 grain needs 9" or faster and 105 VLD needs 8" to stabilize. Look up Berger web site and view their bullet twist rate table. H1000 is too slow for 87 grain bullets but H4350 seems to be the powder of choice for most reloaders. Varget and R17 are other good choices.
