If you wanted a 600+ yard rifle for whitetail.....and had a spare HS Precision stock and Jewell trigger for a Remington Model 7.......and could buy a new stainless Model 7 in 7 SAUM for $500 delivered.......would you do it????

Do it.I did just about what you are pondering on. I got a 700 stainless 7mm SAUM for cheap, and bedded it in a LV REMINGTON stock.I am just starting load development,but it is going to be a shooter.Exact same case capacity as 280 Ackley.24 inch barrel on the 700 and 22 on the 7 but that would not worry me.
