i carried a 264 win mag from 1966 to 1986. wore it out. the bbl that is. since 86 ive tried about everything that had a 24 or 26 in bbl. settled on a sstl vanguard 270 win that has the potential to shoot a 1 inch group at 425. i shot a 3.5in group saturday in a 10mph crosswind, so the potential is there. but never being uncurious i laid away a used mk5 270 wby mag last month and should have it end of next week. one friend suggests i use 140 gr ammo, im looking at 130, but am curious about all the ammo.
