Thoughts on Bonding (grounding) Reloading Bench?

I need to build a new reloading facility and with all the electronics I've accumulated in recent years I'm thinking that I should ground my main--if not all--bench-tops. Should I use non-ferrous metal sheet, ferrous sheeting, bronze or aluminum screening or not to ground at all? Electronic scales surely would be effected even if non-ferrous material was used, but... Experience anyone?

I have doubled Formica covered 3/4" particle board glued with screws. In retrospect probably would have been a good idea to sandwich a metal screen of some sort in the middle to ground. I have a Chargemaster, so far no problems without grounding. If you're building new, why not try some sort of grounding. Good luck

You would be better off grounding YOU not the bench . However a good solid wood bench is all you need and just grab onto some big steel surface before you poor powder or handle primers to dissipate any static potential . I grab my mill table as it's handy to the bench , been zapped a few times . I don't wear static producing clothing much best to wear cotton clothing .
If you are thinking about EMP blast then you need a Faraday cage over the whole area and ground that . Chicken wire cage and copper wire to a copper ground stake . No charge inside a hollow conductor . EMP hits and follows the outside of the cage to the ground. If an appliance is plugged into the mains outlet then EMP could enter through the cable . So unplug mains electronics when not in use and keep in the cage . They reckon North Korea has an EMP satellite over the USA but I think it's BS as a satellite running on solar cells and limited battery space would not be able to produce a strong enough EMP pulse to do much damage it would be no worse than a few lightning strikes . Might knock out some local electronics but I could not have the power of a solar flare .
