Very true! However, looking to the North: I can tell you, from personal knowledge and time spent, that there are numerous "little Americas" and Porters there as well. I simply don't trust our national news media's description of real life in either country. Hopefully, Mr. Porter has learned from you and others on this Forum that denigrating others to make a point will not and should not work here! Good LRS and hunting to all.

If only you new the difference between denigrating and satire, I do hope ignorance means bliss for those who struggle with this subtlety.

Wow! how did I get here on this forum?? To much free time I guess. Sorry Mr. Porter that I failed in making my point clear: I love the fact that there are "little Americas" and Porters in both of the mentioned countries, just don't trust either of our national media's ability to, without bias, represent how many of us truly live. Please sir, referring to others as stupid or ignorant is just not satirical nor blissful. Time to bow out of this thread and I apologize to those who believe we should be discussing the differences between "neck sizing" and "full length sizing"..

Apples and oranges people please!!! There's a huge difference between what hunters like us use, and what champion target shooters use. Do you buy three barrels at a time, all chambered at the same time, and have your dies cut with the same reamer? If so of course you full length size, because that custom die will only bump the case back to your chamber size. I have watched a champion shooter measuring before and after sizing and dimensional changes where minuscule. I.E. The discharge energy all goes into the barrel, NOT into rearranging the dimensions of the brass. Most of us hunters have realised a long time ago that a Collet neck die and a Body die [when necessary] after fire forming is vastly more accurate and produces extraordinary case life. Neck sizing is way more accurate in all eleven of my rifles, and all seven of the other rifles I reload for. We also never have to trim our brass after the original unifying and never get doughnut swelling. The stupidity of asking one specialised branch of shooters for a general rule for all is astonishingly stupid. God spare us from u tube idiots like this!
P.S. If you are in Australia, I dare you to come and prove me wrong. I have a place to shoot all hours any day and a place for you to stay free of charge. If you're not game to try, just shut your ignorant mouth.

I don't know how to respond to this post so I will just jump In.

First, I agree with most of your post. except the part where you get personal. We like hearing from the guys across the big pond because of the differences in weaponry and hunting styles. I got off of several other sites because of the adversarial nature of the members and no one cared about
what was said. Many of these folks were what some call internet experts that had no real experience and for sure very little skill, they were just good at stirring things up and shutting down a very constructive post that could help others.

I am not the site police so you can take this however you want, But believe me, we (Most of us) like to hear from everyone even if/ (Especially) they don't agree and have them explain why. I personally have learned many things that at first I disagreed with and after trying it and proving it to my self. became a believer.

It is easier to sell someone your opinion by explanation than shoving it down there throat. I shot competition for many years and now just enjoy hunting,shooting and building accurate rifles. So I know about the web of deceit that many competitors practice and what to believe and what not to. so I am not impressed with what anybody says, just with what they do.

I think we could learn a lot from you and your experiences, But I also think you could learn a lot from this membership If you approached it without an adversarial attitude. .

My experience with neck sizing
Back when everyone thought neck sizing was the way to go we had 2 22-250s fast twist I necked sizes them we started having tight chambering and tighter after firing so I got the brass and full length it until it chambered without resistance reloaded it our groups tighten up and no more problems
So I don't neck size anymore

I thought this was longrangehunting.com, not a forum for "National and International F Class" or
"Bench rest shooters" or shooters who have polished their barrels till the skin came off [in the privacy of their own homes].. there are plenty of sites dedicated to those disciplines. My reload record with a collet die is 18 reloads in my 308 @ around 59k pressure. The case died with a tiny split on the body. Never seen a "spring back" issue. That brass shot to the same POI from fire form to no. 18. My gunsmith taught me how to use a collet die and proper annealing, pointing out that most people don't know how to use a collet die because the instructions are wrong. Once again I thought we are talking about hunting rifles on this site.

. In order to be a successful hunter, you need to hit what your hunting. The best people in the world at hitting at a distance are the people that are target shooters.

A rifle only needs to compress the rear bag about .001" to throw the bullet 12" high at 1000yds. What cartridges have you tested and what rear supports at 1000yds? I know a lot of shooters that they do change, but I'll video the next time I shoot at 1000 with different setups. It might show what I'm doing wrong

I am a firm believer in buy once cry once attitude.. but sometimes I drift from that when really wanting something and I'm a hurry to. There's no cheap way around it, it cost you more in the long run buying things twice. you alway wonder how much better the other one is and it will drive you crazy.

My last one that I steered off path was when I was replacing scales. Instead of investing into the a&d fx-120i, I bought a gem pro 300 which is good. But it leaves me wanting more and now looking at getting the entire fx-120i with v3 auto trickler and auto drop. But that's 1300 Canadian so might have to wait just a bit but will be my next big reloading purchase hoping by april
