About a week ago I was at the 800 yard line shooting prone and an acquaintance drives up behind me....sits in his truck...I take off my ear muffs and I know what he wants! He wanted to sight in his deer rifle and I informed him "Not today Roy...I'll be shooting until dark!" This was the first decent day I'd had in weeks to shoot as it was overcast and STILL; not 104F degrees like we had been experiencing for several weeks. Roy then asked me...."What are you doing?" He apparently didn't see a 5 gal. bucket out in front of me at 25 yards....which is the standard target for our 'Riflemen' in these parts and apparently he had no idea that I was shooting at the target on the mound in the distance! I told him I was testing some loads and getting some trigger time! His response was...."Why?" I told him "Roy...you just don't understand do you? All you Redneck hunters do is keep your rifle in the closet year around until just before deer season...you then drag it out and if it will hit a 5 gal. bucket from 25 yards you're good to go!" I asked him how many times he had shot his rifle the past 12 months and his reply was..."Wal...I think I fired it 5 times last season...and I ain't shot it since!" That my friends is the difference twixt your 'normal hunter'....and a shooter!!lightbulb
