The 6.8 Western (6.8 Wst) is a new and well thought out relatively high capacity belt less commercial cartridge. What attracts me to it is the fact that available production rifles from Winchester and Browning come with tight enough twists to stabilize the longest and heaviest .277 bullets, thus taking full advantage of their high BCs. The 140 gr .277 SBD2 sporting a G1 of 0.650 and a G7 of 0.333, which is barely lower than the heaviest .277 170 gr lead core bullet out there, is able to be launched considerably faster since it weighs 30 gr less.
