Randy Newberg (and others) hosts "On Your Own Adventures" and a few other youtube series on hunting public land, as well as planning and e-scouting from your desktop.

For me, I guess I have to overcome "why am I drawing tags less and less often" (maybe it's just me and my "grumpy old man syndrome" (GOMS) :) ... back in the day, we used to draw deer and elk tags together for the same season and same areas and same method of hunt, with muzzleloading draws successful maybe 3 out of 5 years ...

That seems to have degraded to every other year, then split seasons for elk and deer, or split areas for the same season ... kind of hard to hunt 2 different GMUs in 1 season.
