The big 7mm’s

I had a second hand 7mm Mashburn for a while, had been a rechambered Win 70. My velocities (from a 24" barrel) were slightly slower than my first 7 STW (also with a 24" barrel). I tried the 7 Imperial and 7 RUM (ballistic twins basically), but I didn't get gain very much for a lot more powder. FWIW - dan

One to look at is 7.21 firebird from John Lazzeroni. I think you can get the velocity you want, but dont know if he will put in the barrels with the faster spin to stabilize the 195 eol...

I bought a wildcat 7mm STW before they were commercially made. 29 inch shilen barrel. They were made from necked down 8mm Remington mag cases and fire forming.

I loaned to people for out of state elk hunts. 175 grain were always pass through shots even at long range. It was big russian Boar medicine. in the image. stw loaded with 190 grain VLD match bullets and the 7 mm rem mag with a 175 spire point.

when my buddy was popping primers in his 7mm Rem mag my STW was underloaded to match the speed on the chrono. The stw is not extremely over bore and easy on cases. I used retumbo, h1000, and magpro powder.

The lightest bullet i ever used was 150 SPBT and they were for knocking down pigs. DRT

Had the 7mm Rum but built a 7mm Long Range Hunter on it, runs at 3300 fps with 197 gr SMK's & 195 gr Berger EOL bullets for top velocity, at 3250 fps it is extremely accurate with low single digit sd's, detacheable mag compliant and ready made factory brass with headstamps makes life easy, don't need to look at any other 7mm out there as not many can beat it in velocity and I can always use powders to match the lower speeds of the slower cartridges with eternal brass life at the lower pressures

can always use fireformed Lapua, Peterson, Norma etc 300 & 338 Norma Mag factory brass as backup if need be, that's where I started from anyway

@Turtle566
We used to have a place selling CH4D dies in Australia. Toys for Big Boys at Yunta South Australia, but I haven't heard of them in years.
Bertram Brass make custom brass and Simplex Australia are still in operation.

Not sure if these can help but pm me if you like.
I do wonder if the IS shortages will affect us in time as importer stock runs low.
