Got some new Peterson Brass for the 28 nosler and was also wanting develop a load for some Berger 180 Hybrid Targets. 42 rounds in and I think we have a winner. The last photo was my final seating depth test between .08 & .09 from jam for comparison. .08 was probably going to hold a solid 1/2 MOA, but no reason to shoot anymore after the .09 group. Just need to adjust the scope from my 180 VLD target loads. I just leave it shoot whenever during load development haha.

How do you expect they will perform on game? I've never tried them. At 28 Nosler velocities, in close, I am affaid they might explode and fail to penetrate.

Lot of guys use them in the 28-N. It'll do some blow-up damage at close range, but good for the LR. I've run them in my 7-LRM with good results near and far at 3,000 fps. Bloodshot meat up close. Never had one not fully penetrate a whitetail.

Thanks Northkill, I'm looking for a cross-canyon load for Audad and desert
M-deer. I'm going to work up a load with Berger's if I can lay my hands on a couple boxes.

If you're running a 28-N, you may want to look at the 195's? But 180's will be fine too. Audad's are pretty tough critters. Have you looked at the Badlands? I'm running the 150 BD-2's at 3,711 fps in my 8 twist 7 Allen Mag. Didn't get a chance to try on game yet, but from the hillbilly plinking I've done so far, they are pretty impressive.

I killed a decent amount of stuff with the 180 VLD hunts. Close range is pretty violent. Long range is also violent haha. They flat kill. But only maintain about 15-18" of penetration at any given distance.
