I have a model 7 Remington with a new 20" Broughton 1;12 5C barrel.
I am currently shooting 150 grain Nosler Accubonds sub .5" at 100 yards.
I have been trying some 130 and 150 Tipped Barnes Tripple Shocks.
The bullets have been seated .050" off the rifling over H4895 and Varget.
The 150s have shot best with a .750" 5 shot group the 130s have not shot better than 1.0".
I talked with Barns bullets today and they suggested trying Tac and seating the bullets closer to the lands.
Have any of you tried the 130 and 150 Tipped Tripple shocks in a 308.
The primers did not appear flattened with presure with a very stiff load of powder.
The balistition at Barnes stated I should be able to acheive groups in the .4" range consistently. He indicated with TAC powder he was getting 3182 FPS.
I would like to hear from some others who have tried the 130s and 150s tipped Tripple shocks.
