Exploding bullets work great as long as you hit the heart/lungs. If you don't, you may have a mortally wounded critter with little or no blood trail.

You could go with a heavier 150 Nosler Ballistic Tip, it would exit and you would still get a lot of explosive effect.

Heavier soft bullets always work better especially on large and magnum cartridges, deeper penetration.
 
I shot a cow elk at 418 yards with 160 accubond in the front shoulder in a 7RUM. I had to anchor it so it wouldn't go onto private land. Bullet completely came apart. Alls I could really find was fragments of the jacket, but it was DRT.
