Many,many years ago this fascinated me
All I had was a Benjamin 22 pellet rifle,A b b gun and a22 rifle
I tried splitting pellets (forward and as intended to witness the different results on at the time play-dough,wet catalogs and and pellets made very distinctive effects on the test media I reversed the pellets (with razor blade spits) and the results were amazing
You never know until you do your tests on how the projectile will change
This is just my opinion as I did this as a 14-15 year old
I wished I could have pursued my tests but trying to make a living became priority
Test your bullets performance and I think you will gain the knowledge you seek
