Talk to me about Barrel Tuners

It might have been possible to get tighter but it's a vanguard and those 156 bergers are making recoil a thing

I've had pretty good luck with mine. It's the ats comp Tuner. Have it on my 6gt prs rig. Picked a stable powder charge, seated bullets 40k off lands. Went to tuning, setring 4 and 10 were 1/3 moa at 100y, but it opened up to 3/4 moa at 400. Setting 10 shoots 5 shot groups with 1" vertical and 1.5" horizontal at 400y. Es is pretty good, around 12-15 typically on a 10 shot string. I also have one the ats hunting tuners to try on my bartlein carbon#4 6.5prc.

I just ordered the one from Cortina and I'll try it on my Seekins Havak. I'll post how it did once I get some shooting time with it.

I'm not a fan the EC brake/tuner. The ats is a better tuner and allows you to use far superior brakes with it. Just my experience trying three different tuners.

Before EC and after I stopped there for now

Here's one at work. The first pic is at 103yrds and I wanted to see how that group acted at distance since it showed signs of vertical?

The Second pic (sorry for the quality) shows what the 100yrd group did at 419yrds on setting #0. It opened up to around .9MOA. Upper right is setting #2, bottom left is setting #4 and then bottom right is setting #6 which brought the group back down to .3MOA. Ran out of ammo otherwise I would have tried #8. I was hoping to go back to 100yrds today and see how it acted on #6, but Im getting rained out.

I'm really glad you posted this. I stopped shooting 100 yards for load work up because ive had them open up at distance and your pics reflect the same thing ive noticed. I'll still do it if conditions require it, like a poor scope or weather but it's usually for a rifle that's only going to be hunted out to 3-400. Hopefully your pics help others
